"Plant a garden.
Watch it grow.
Grab the shovel!
Grab the hoe!
Dig in dirt--
And sprinkle seeds.
Pour on water.
Pull the weeds.
Flowers grow,
In rain and sun.
We'll pick them when the growing's done!
--Plant a Garden Adapted Book
The "Plant a Garden" Adapted Book has been updated!
This spring-themed adapted book teaches basic garden vocabulary words, through simple rhymes, repetitive text, and hands-on interaction. In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads the book as students follow along matching a vocabulary word and picture to each page. Students working at an independent level can work through the book in a literacy center or independent workstation.
This adapted book now includes several new supplemental activities that focus on sequencing, sorting and classification, position concepts, and labeling and identification.
Here's a sneak-peek:
Basic Identification And Labeling |
Gardened Themed Position Concepts Activity |
Sorting and Classification: Things That Make a Garden Grow/Things That Do Not |
